Welcome to the May issue of Simply Knitting magazine! This issue we’ve put together a fantastic collection of patterns for you, from Alan Dart’s latest mouse collection, the May Day Mice (they’re just irresistible!) to our usual great selection in the magazine.

We also have a handy set of 3mm bamboo toy needles for you too, so all you need is some yarn and you can get knitting the mice right away!

Don’t forget Dad this Father’s Day! To help you make sure he feels special, we’ve put together some quick gift ideas to knit (p54) and on page 73 Martin Storey has created a knitting pattern for a classic cable V-neck tank top, which would make a really lovely Father’s Day gift. Start knitting now to ensure you have it ready for Sunday 17 June!

This year, of course, we will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and we thought you’d like to get started on your knitting early.
